our foundation
See Better. Learn Better was born of the community development efforts of Cornerstone Jamaica, an organization whose mission started in 2011 to connect people and resources to create sustainable programs that improve health and education in Jamaican communities. Our founder, Gary Robinson, paved the way for our organization out of his love for Jamaica.
In 2022, See Better. Learn Better became a stand-alone organization with a goal to provide comprehensive vision care to primary school students in Jamaica. The program delivers life-changing exams and eyeglasses while bolstering health care in the region. The initiative provides comprehensive eyecare for over 3,600 children per academic year. It serves as a premier clinical training opportunity for Caribbean optometry students and a professional development hub for local Jamaican optometrists, elevating regional pediatric standards through hands-on education and shared clinical experiences.
